With an executive order the occupant in the white house authorised expanded federal funding for research using stem cells produced from the distruction of human embryos. Is it just me or does anyone else have a sinking feeling in the pit of their stomach? I remember the warnings about abortion during the 70s how this is taking steps down a very distructive path. Well, with this executive order the path is defanately distructive. " I believe we have been given the capacity and the will to pursue this research-and the humanity and consience to do so responsibly"said Obama. "humanity and consience"???? what about the lives snuffed out by abortion?where is the "humanity and consience"there? With this federal funding (so much for the responsibility in spending)where are the restraints? Will it be up to the National Institute of Health to come up with "guidelines"??? In my very first post on townhall I promised to point to hope(even though at the beginning they may start critical of events!!)here is the hope in this: adult stem cells. You can get adult stem cells that have already proven benifical in treatments and reserch such as diabetes "adult stem cells may hold the key to long term remission of type 1 diabetes" according to a study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association. Hey, I am all for research to help mankind, however, when a nation takes purposeful distructive steps such as the distruction of human life for "resarch" do the ends justify the means??
